The city İstanbul , 2010 European Capital of Culture , hosting sport events 13. European Short Course Swimming Championship on 10-13 December 2009 in Abdi İpekçi Arena.
Abdi İpekçi Arena will be temporarily transformed into an Olympic swimming pool.
So that the 13th European Short Course Swimming Championship will come off perfectly, the Turkish Swimming Federation has planned everything meticulously and continues to work on the details.

It is with great excitement that the largest basketball arena in Turkey is will becoming a swimming pool complex for 4 days! — and there is hope that some European and World records will be made here.
Sports media all over the world will be focusing on this event and its results. We are very thankful to our supporters in this demanding, although enjoyable, endeavor.
